About Mary
Mary McCarthy has an extensive background in sewing, teaching, and business. A custom clothier and designer since 1991, she has developed sewing and fitting techniques that inspire and educate her students at all levels.
Her formal background includes a B.S. in Clothing and Textiles, and M.B.A. She is currently an adjunct professor of clothing construction at Sanford-Brown College in Orlando, Florida and also teaches the Trained Sewing Instructor Program for the Sewing and Craft Alliance.
She has authored three books on sewing techniques -- available here -- and her work has been featured in Threads, Sew News, and on Pattern Review.
